[P4] - Assignments and extractions from the text

 Assignment

The objective for P4 is to demonstrate coherence  between suggested materialization(-s) andy the announced ascetic intension(-s).

Materialize minimum 3 critically selected foci within their prototype (-s)9 is to be preformed in a dialogue with a precise definition of a series of particular aesthetic programs.
    -    selected foci: the materialization  go which will be of significance to the achievement of         intended effects on the relation human body - covering - environment.
    -    aesthetic programs: the disruption of a scenario of intended effects  in the relation         human body - coring - environment.
    -    environment: the chosen phenomena, the chosen time -scale or speed

materialize specifically programmed relationships human body - covering - environment maintaining a focus on the actual design of the membrane as  mediator  between the human body - the environment

materiallization(-s) particular attention:
a. test and choice of material(-s)
b. the design of particular structural elements (elements the deign of which are of paramount importance to the achievement of specific programmed effect(-s)
c the design of specific spatial relations between the human body - covering - environment (spatial relations the design of which are of paramount importance to the achievement of particular programmed effects.

Pin-up #1

The plan:
- direction our development /materialization of foci
- based on a close scrutiny of P4 production requirements.
- entail a focused progression in the production to the units exhibition

- a résumé of chosen phenomena, time scale and station
- A résumé of the conclusions drawn from the production of probes and prototypes in P3
-Extractions with a clear reference to a and b

[P3] // The assignment and notes

"(...)

"(...)

overall:
choose one structure [ body > < covering > < environment (covering as the structure)]

brainstorm for choosing structure:
transparent, movement, lightweitght, membrain,

Two phenomena [ body  > < covering/phenomenon > < environment (environment as the phenomenon)]

 [Sunshine] [wind]

Each student (in my case, sunshine and wind) are to choose some interesting pharameters to be used as keys for the further process. The pharameters can be any interesting factors or focuses that you want to work with within your phenomenon.

[P1] // The Assignment and notes

Climate and architecture

Architecture as an interface between the human body and the environment.

Covering - operational layer between constantly changing environmental conditions
                  - performative, relational and affective element

Meteorological phenomenon :

[rain] [wind] [sunshine] [thunder] [snow] [frost] [fog]

Relations between  conditions and effects, The material and the immaterial

Unravell how the apperance of space is affected trough these relationships

"(...) One should actually surrond oneself with all kinds of phenomena and constructions in which universal  laws bekome visible. Why do I suggest this? Because then we can produce, whenever we like, the phenomenon, which conveys a bodily experience of the correspondence between the inner and the outer world. (...)"
- Hugo Kükelhaus [1]

"(...) Notations go beyond the visual to engage the invisible aspects of architecture. This includes the phenomenological effects of light, shadow, and transparency; sound smell or temprature, but also - and pherhaps more significantly - program, event and sosial space. Notations are not pictures or icons. They do not so much describe or represent individual objects, as they specify internal structure and relationships among the parts. Inasmuch as the use of notation signals a shift away from the object and towards the syntatic. it might open up the possibility of a rigorous, yet non-reductive abstraction. The use of notation marks a shift from demarcated object to extended field. (...)"
- Stan Allen [2]

" (...) As a creative practice, mapping precipitates its most productive effects through the finding that is also a founding; its argency lies in neither reproduction nor imposition but rather in uncovering realities previously unseen or unimagined, even across seemingly exhausted grounds.  Thus, mapping unfold potential; it re-makes territory over and over again, each new and diverse consequences. Not all maps accomplish this, however; some simply reproduce what is all ready known. These are more 'tracings' than maps, delineating patterns but revealling nothing new. (...)"
